This game was a reminder to everyone that when you play in the top Division, there’s no such thing as an easy game!
Despite starting with just 10 men, a well organised and determined Crawley side made the best start possible when they went a goal up in just 15 minutes, punishing Cranleigh for some sloppy defending. Cranleigh equalised some 10 minutes later after a Luca Ellis header from a Camron Lawson corner, found it’s mark but they struggled to break down an extremely hard working Crawley team. A 25 yards stunner from Toby Hurman saw the away side take the lead just before half time but despite the one man advantage, they continued to labour and couldn’t capitalise on their lead.

The second half saw Crawley once again start brightly,. with goalkeeper Dan Laws brought into action early doors. As the game went on and the home side tired, more and more opportunities arose for Cranleigh but they failed to extend their lead and the game ended without further goals.

A timely reminder that to compete at this level week in, week out, you have to work your socks off and take nothing for granted.
